Couples Therapy at Raha Psychology
Reconnect. Communicate. Heal together.
Relationships can be one of the most meaningful parts of our lives—and also one of the most challenging. At Raha Psychology, we help couples strengthen their connection through a unique blend of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the Gottman Method—two evidence-based approaches proven to support healthy, lasting relationships.
Whether you’re feeling disconnected, stuck in conflict, or simply want to grow closer, we offer a safe space to rebuild trust, learn new tools, and find your shared calm—your raha—together.
What Is Couples Therapy?
Couples therapy is a space where you and your partner can openly explore your relationship, guided by a therapist trained in tools that promote understanding, emotional regulation, and healthy communication.
At Raha, we integrate two powerful methods:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Couples
DBT helps individuals and couples learn to manage strong emotions, reduce conflict, and communicate more effectively. In a couples setting, DBT focuses on:
- Regulating emotions during heated moments
- Improving communication without blame or defensiveness
- Increasing distress tolerance to prevent escalation
- Practicing mindfulness to stay present and grounded during conflict
- Building self-awareness and empathy toward each other
This approach is especially helpful if one or both partners experience intense emotional reactions or struggle to stay regulated during conflict.
- The Gottman Method for Couples
Developed through decades of research, the Gottman Method offers practical, research-backed strategies to strengthen relationships. At Raha, we use these tools to help you:
- Strengthen your friendship and emotional bond
- Build trust and repair past hurts
- Learn healthy conflict resolution
- Understand and honor each other’s needs
- Create shared meaning and future goals
The Gottman Method gives structure and direction to couples work, helping you focus on what works—and what needs to change.
Is Couples Therapy Right for You?
Couples therapy may be helpful if you and your partner are experiencing:
- Frequent arguments or miscommunication
- Emotional distance or lack of connection
- Difficulty navigating parenting, finances, or life transitions
- Betrayal, broken trust, or unresolved conflict
- Challenges managing emotional dysregulation in one or both partners
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Many couples come to therapy simply to grow stronger and learn better ways of relating.
